Step 6: Connect the Galaxy S2 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn yellow with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added. If Odin fails to detect the device then re-install USB driver.
Step 7: Choose the following files in Odin from extracted I9100XWLSW firmware folder by using respective checkboxes:
- Select the PDA checkbox, and choose the file named .tar or .md5.
- Click the Phone checkbox, and choose the file with modem in its name (ignore if there is no such file)
- Click the CSC checkbox, and select the file with csc in its name (ignore if such file is missing)
- Choose the PIT checkbox, and choose the .pit file. Use only the file obtained during extracting in step 1 above, otherwise ignore it.
Step 8: In Odin, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes. Also, ensure the Re-Partition checkbox is chosen only if a .pit file was chosen in the previous step.
Step 9: Verify everything suggested in Step 7 and Step 8 is done correctly. Then hit the START button to begin the flashing process.
Step 10: Once flashing completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 should be now updated with official Android 4.1.2 XWLSW Jelly Bean firmware. Head over to Settings >> About Phone to verify the software version running on the device.

Steps to root Galaxy Note N7000 on Android 4.1.2 DXLSE Jelly Bean using Odin
Step 1: Download the PhilZ-cwm6-DXLSE-OLB-4.93.6.tar.md5 file for Samsung Galaxy Note to the computer
Step 2: Download Odin 3.07 which will help to install the root file
Step 3: Switch off the Galaxy Note. Then boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home buttons together and then press the Power button until the device turns on. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode
Step 4: Launch Odin on the computer.
Step 5: Connect the Galaxy Note to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn yellow with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added. If Odin fails to detect the device then re-install USB driver.
Step 6: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the PhilZ-cwm6-DXLSE-OLB-4.93.6.tar.md5 file
Step 7: Verify that Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. DO NOT Tick "Re-partition" options.
Step 8: Finally hit the Start button in Odin to begin the flashing. The installation will take some time
Step 9: When the installation process is completed the phone will restart automatically. Once the home screen appears on the phone users may safely unplug the device from the computer

Said to have taken considerable design hints from the current iPad mini, a number of claimed iPad 5 images have hit the web in recent weeks, further pointing to a streamlined, angled backed brushed metal finish.
Although Apple has yet to officially announce the iPad 5, it is believed the iPad 4 follow-on will hit retailers with a faster, quad-core processor in tow. With revised camera optics expected to be given the nod, mooted iPad 5 specs have also pointed to larger storage capacities.

Samsung has taken the camera phone market to new levels with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom officially unveiled with a 10x optical zoom snapper.
Centred around a 16-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is more compact snapper than traditional smartphone, with optical image stabilisation and Samsung’s new Zoom Ring interface lining up alongside an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
Stretching its S4 spin-off branding perhaps a little too far, the newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom shares little in common with its flagship sibling beyond its name and a slight design similarity. The unconventional handset does, however, see Samsung merge too of its leading sections as the smartphone and camera teams combine.
“Combining our industry leading expertise in digital imaging and smartphones, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is a converged device that delivers on all fronts and is a product we are excited to be bringing to the market,” Simon Stanford, Vice President of IT & Mobile Division for Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland said.
With a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor lying at the heart of the device, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom camera is further enhanced by the impressive 10x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation which are set to push the boundaries of what is expected from smartphone snapper.
With the zoom lens boasting a 24-240mm lens at F/3.1-F/6.3, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom camera hosts an ISO range from 100 to 3200 and is further assisted by an integrated Xenon flash. A second, 1.9-megapixel forward-facing camera is present up front.

How to Root Galaxy S4 Sprint SPH L720 on Android 4 2 2 VPUAMF9 Jelly Bean Firmware
Samsung Galaxy S4 (Sprint) SPH-L720 users who have already updated their devices with Android 4.2.2 VPUAMF9 Jelly Bean, may root their devices using the tutorial below.
This tutorial uses CF-Auto-Root file released by recognised XDA Developers, Chainfire. The CF-Auto-Root file allowing Galaxy S4 users to root their devices easily without depending on the firmware. It completely supports Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and future firmware as well. Head over to the CF-Auto-Root main thread to learn more about the root method.
Note: Using this root increases your flash counter. The flash counter keeps track of how many custom firmwares you have flashed, as this voids warranty. Triangle Away can be used to reset the flash counter after installing CF-Auto-Root.

Step 2: Switch off the Galaxy S4. Then boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on screen. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 3: Launch Odin on the computer as an Administrator.
Step 4: Connect the Galaxy S4 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.
Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try re-install USB drivers or changing the port on the computer.
Step 5: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the CF-Auto-Root-jfltespr-jfltespr-sphl720.tar.md5 file.
Step 6: Verify that Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. Also, ensure the Re-Partition option is not selected.
Step 7: Double-check and click Start in Odin. The installation process will now begin.
Step 8: Once the installation process is completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
Samsung Galaxy S4 (Sprint) SPH-L720 running on Android 4.2.2 VPUAMF9 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted successfully. You can now install any app that requires root permission. Verify the root status of the device by downloading Root Checker app from Google Play Store.

HTC has officially unveiled the HTC Butterfly S as a 5-inch, quad-core smartphone with all the new features introduced with the HTC One.
Packing a 1.9GHz quad-core processor, the previously leaked HTC Butterfly S is the upgrade to the original HTC Butterfly and the Japanese exclusive HTC J Butterfly that featured the world’s first full 1080p HD screen.
“We’ve upgraded the popular HTC Butterfly to reflect the new standards set by the HTC One for smartphone performance”, said HTC CEO, Peter Chou. “The HTC Butterfly changed the way people looked at a smartphone thanks to the world’s first full HD 1080p, 5-inch screen and that complete viewing experience has been taken to the next level with HTC BlinkFeed.”
The HTC Butterfly S offers a 5-inch Full 1080p HD Super LCD 3 display with a pixel density of 441ppi, which is the same as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z.
Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the HTC Butterfly S includes the HTC Sense 5 UI complete with HTC Zoe camera software and the media aggregator HTC BlinkFeed homescreen.

Instagram has added a new share option to its desktop website, allowing users to embed photos and videos around the web for the first time.
The company announced the update on Wednesday afternoon, and in doing so hopes to make content more visible beyond the standalone mobile app, Instagram.com website and Facebook and Tumblr where photos can already be shared easily.
The new Share button, which appears to the right of single photo pages (not within the timeline), beneath the like and comment buttons. Clicking it serves up an embed code which can be posted to blogs like Tumblr (beyond direct uploads) and on websites with content publishing software that allow media embedding.
Users arent limited to sharing their own photos, they can also publish those belonging to other users of the service.
In a blog post, Instagram says privacy settings still apply so if your photos are private then no-one will be able to post them around the web. However, if youre happy for your photos to be viewed within the app and not happy for them to potentially be plastered all over the web, you may want to think about setting that profile to private.
Unfortunately theres no middle ground. Your posts are either completely private and viewable onto to those you wish to see them, or theyre totally open to all and sundry.
The company wrote: "As always, you own your photos and videos, and we want to make sure that’s understood no matter where your content appears. Whether you want to embed your video on your blog or a friend wants to feature your photo on a website, everyone will clearly see that your content belongs to you. Your embedded photo or video appears with your Instagram username, and clicking on the Instagram logo will take people to your page on Instagram.com where they can discover more of your photos and videos."

Steps to Root Nexus 10 on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Firmware
Step 1: Install the Android SDK. The package includes the necessary drivers for connecting your Nexus phone to the computer, which is mandatory for the rooting process.
Step 2: Extract CF-Auto-Root file using winrar/7zip/winzip or any other extracting tool.
Step 3: Switch off the Nexus 10. Then boot the device into fastboot mode by pressing and holding Vol Up + Vol Down + Power buttons together.
Step 4: Connect the Nexus 10 to the computer using USB cable, then wait until Windows finished installing the drivers.
Step 5: Navigate to the folder where you extracted the CF-Auto-Root files, then run the following command:
- Windows: Run root-windows.bat
- Linux: chmod +x root-linux.sh, Run root-linux.sh
- Mac OS X: chmod +x root-mac.sh, Run root-mac.sh
Nexus 10 running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted successfully. Open the app drawer of the Nexus 10 and look for an app called SuperSU. Verify the root status of the device by downloading Root Checker app from Google Play Store.
Note: If SuperSU does not appear, then you can install it manually from the Google Play Store.

Twitter has issued a relatively minor update for its iOS, Android, Mac, iPad and mobile web and desktop clients, which finally resolves one of the most complained-about aspects of using the social network.
The new app now syncs direct messages to mark as read across all devices, rather than appearing as a new message when a user checks in on a different device.
Previously users would pick up their mobile handsets to be notified of a new direct message, despite having previously dealt with it on the desktop and vise versa.
"Weve heard your feedback: Direct messages now sync across all your devices," the company announced in a blog post on Monday evening.
Other improvements for the Android, iPhone, iPad and mobile web apps include better search results, with account previews now featuring a full biography of the user, while a swipe to the right will display suggestions similar to your query.
The blog post explained: "This account preview makes it easier and faster to find and learn more about the accounts you’re looking for. And if you swipe the preview to the left, you’ll find similar accounts –– for example, if you search for the MLB, you’ll see suggestions for ESPN, Ken Rosenthal, and other MLB-related accounts.
"Additionally, a new in-app indicator in search results will show you when there are new Tweets for your query, making it easier for you to stay up to date on the latest Twitter conversation."
Twitter for iPhone gets one improvement the others dont with a new built-in tweet composer that appears when you tap to expand a tweet, as you can see in the picture above.
